There are a lot of great resources. Here are a few that have been helpful to us when working with individuals with Speech Sound Disorders.

You'll notice many of the books are part of a series. Children with language difficulties often like to stay with a series for a few books. The familiarity of the characters and/or style can be comforting, allowing the child to focus on the content.

Here We Are: Notes for Living on Planet Earth By Oliver Jeffers

Here We Are: Notes for Living on Planet Earth
By Oliver Jeffers

Here We Are

Oliver Jeffers wrote this heartfelt book for his newborn son. It is a tour through the land, sea, sky, and the human body. Jeffers is a master at capturing the joy in our differences on earth. Jeffers illustrates his books and it is easy to get lost in his graphics.

We're really digging this book these days. There are so many ways to use it in a lesson. Ashtyn Goshaw and Virginia Ingram put together a few ways you may want to use this book in your therapy session or with a child who has SSD, or another diagnosis.
